In 2011, she interned for the Senior Gender Adviser in the United Nations Environment Program working in a zero energy balance building in Kenya. Shi-Lynn Campbell,
Social Media Coordinator and
Production Editor - Blog (2021-2022)

Shi-Lynn is a native of Plainfield, New Jersey, and a longtime resident of Las Vegas, NV, the ancestral lands of the Nuwuvi. He attended UNLV and developed a love for hiking while trying to stay active after the birth of his daughter. After joining several local hiking groups, Shi realized that the outdoor community was very white and had a one size fit all mentality. That made him feel uncomfortable. He, along with several of his friends, started their own hiking group where they could be themselves and provide a safe space for other POC. That group became Hike Nevada. Today, Shi-Lynn is a field ranger working at the Desert National Wildlife Refuge and freelance photographer. He uses his talents to stand up for diversity, equity and inclusion as well as indigenous rights. His mission is to support decolonization by any means necessary.

Her goal is to make the outdoors more accessible and welcoming by drawing on her experiences, as well as the experiences of others. In her free time, Jess can be found playing with her two dogs, Sawyer and Jorah, or planning out her next adventure.

Khristina Rhead,
Assistant Editor - Blog (Summer 2022)

Khristina is an environmentalist, writer, and rock climber. Although her love for nature started as a kid growing up in Maryland, her passion for outdoor recreation really took off once she moved to the West Coast in 2018. Since then, she's made getting outside a big part of her life. By sharing photos and videos of herself camping, hiking, and climbing on Instagram and other social media platforms, she hopes to inspire Black/Latinx and plus size people to take up lots of space in the outdoors.
